| This is a fountain created off of a concept by the artist Khang Lee. The pillars in the background are based of the ones seen in the Mines of Moria, from the Lord of the Rings.
I placed it initially in Maya and rendered it using Mental Ray. All elements were created and composited by myself.
Several details of the scenes creation are following.
The dust rays were made using volume primitives with a procedural texture on them. I played around with using ray scattering method in Mental ray but the render times were ridicolous for the quality of the result.
The fountain was sclupted using Mudbox. Normal, cavity and occlusion were generated with xNormal.
I am currently working on an unreal scene using the same meshes. |
